“I want to see The Africa Center shape the narratives and solutions that elevate at least half of all Africans into the global middle class by 2063, while ensuring Africa’s art and creative industries both fuel and reflect this transformation. The quest is two-fold: to ensure that Africa and its global diaspora, especially in the United States, play a crucial part in its rise toward wealth, security, and independence, and, critically, that African-descended communities in Harlem and across America also share in that progress, economically and culturally. Our success in building this inclusive, expansive Global Africa is required to change the course of humanity toward more justice, fairness, and peace.”
